HOW DO I RESERVE MY WEDDING DAY SERVICES?
Please contact us at your earliest convenience to check our availability. A completed wedding agreement and a 50% initial non-refundable retainer are required to retain our services.
Please note most summer dates are booked 6 months - 1 year in advance so don't wait to inquire about your date.
CAN I BOOK HAIR OR MAKEUP OR DO I HAVE TO BOOK BOTH?
You can book either service, however there may be a minimum service requirement of 4 guests during our peak-summer season. Please inquire about your specific request.
WHY DO BRIDES CHOOSE US?
The typical MK Bride typically doesn't wear much makeup. She wants to look like an enhanced version of herself without looking heavy or feeling like she is wearing too much makeup. She wants to feel glamorous but still recognizable. Whether it's more makeup or less makeup, each application is customized to what she wants. The bride trusts that we the expert will work with her to create a makeup/hair look that will suit her facial features and will photograph beautifully.

WHAT IS AIRBRUSH MAKEUP?
Unlike traditional makeup (where you use brushes and sponges directly on the face), airbrushing sprays a fine mist so the makeup distributes evenly onto your skin. Airbrush can be found in various formula’s offering different finishes to the face. We typically recommend airbrush to clients who have problematic skin (acnes, scars, blemishes). If you're skin is considered "normal" then we recommend using the traditional foundation which will also give you airbrush results.

I DON'T WEAR MUCH MAKEUP, WILL I LOOK LIKE MYSELF?
Most of our brides don't wear much makeup. Wedding makeup is different than the typical makeup application you may be used to doing on yourself. Our artists are trained to enhance your facial features to ensure that you will not only look stunning in person, but also photograph beautifully from all angles.
We test each makeup line before we decide to put it in our kit. We want our clients to enjoy all aspects of their makeup experience which means feeling ultra comfortable in their new second-skin.
Most of the makeup that the average consumer buys from the retail store is great for daily use, however for photography purposes the ingredients in that makeup may cause a "flash-back" against your photographers lighting. This will result in your complexion appearing pale or ghost-like.
We are trained and experienced to utilize the best makeup for HD photography purposes which will ensure that you are looking flawless in your wedding photos.
If you are concerned about how your makeup will look, we do recommend booking a trial at your earliest convenience.
WHAT IS A TRIAL? (BRIDAL PREVIEW)
A trial is an opportunity to sit down with your artist and discuss your hair and makeup requests.
It includes:

A consultation about your makeup & hair – essentially your likes and dislikes

A makeup application (includes false lash application)
-
Hair service with veil, headpiece or hairpiece placement
-
Face chart for the artist to help re-create the look
-
High resolution photos for yourself to see how the makeup will photograph
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK A TRIAL?
Two to three months before your wedding is recommended. This allows the artist to see the condition of your skin and eyebrows and perhaps suggest a skincare regime to help your skin to be in top condition for your wedding. This also allows the bride to work with the artist and think about what kind of look she wants to create for her wedding.
IS A BRIDAL PREVIEW (TRIAL) RECOMMENDED?
We highly recommend that bridal clients book a preview. This is the time to ensure that you and your artist can discuss your makeup/hair looks, desires, questions, concerns and determine if any necessary skincare routines should be put in place. The preview will establish the valuable rapport between client to ensure that both are a good fit for your big day.
The artist will have a face chart and images documenting the trial details. This will allow for a time efficient and relaxed makeup application on the day of your wedding.
You have the the option to combine your bridal trial with your engagement shoot or bridal shower. This all depends on timing and how soon you are wanting to book those events.
Trials are typically 1.5-2 hours. The reason they take longer is because of the in-depth time spent with you creating your customized look. After your trial your wedding date will only be held for 24 hours. The wedding date will be reserved by sending the retainer and completing the wedding agreement.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TRIAL APPOINTMENT?
It's a good idea to check out sites such as Pinterest or Google to see different wedding hair/makeup styles that you may like for yourself. We'd even suggest to check out our "Before & After" gallery to see if there are some makeovers that you can relate to.
In order to obtain maximum benefits from your makeup application we'd suggest that you have a great skincare routine in place. We are happy to make suggestions once we meet for the trial and have a chance to assess your skin.
We recommend regularly hair trims at least 6 months before your wedding day. If you have trouble finding a suitable hairstylist we'd be happy to make some fabulous recommendations. Certain hairstyles will require clip-in hair extensions if your own hair lacks length or fullness. Many of the fabulous hair images you may find on Pinterest were most likely created with hair extensions as it is quite common nowadays. We don't provide hair extensions, however we'd be happy to provide a list of suppliers for you to check out.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MY WEDDING DAY?
Prior to your wedding day, we would have worked with you to create an itinerary for your hair/makeup service so you know exactly what time we'll be arriving and ending services. Depending on the final number of services and guests booked, we will determine how many artists will be assigned to your wedding party.
Typically there are a minimum of 2 artists assigned. Please anticipate that each service will be require 45-60 minutes (depending on the desired makeup look or length of hair/thickness).
We arrive typically 15 minutes before your appointment time to allow for setup. We supply a makeup chair, & portable makeup lights so you can sit back and enjoy your exclusive time with your personal artist.
WILL MY MAKEUP LAST ALL DAY?
With the exceptional use of professional and luxury brands your makeup is guaranteed to last all day and night! We have ensured to have makeup that is sweat – water and tear proof yet still providing a well-hydrated, natural and flawless look.
WHAT IF I NEED A TOUCH-UP ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING?
A touch-up kit will be provided for the bride on the day of her wedding. It is recommended that the bride purchase a full size lip color of her preference touch-up her lip's as often as she chooses.
The artist is also available to stay for touch-ups of hair and makeup for the bride and bridal party if needed. Additional charges apply for this service, please inquire for rates.
I’D LIKE TO HAVE TWO LOOKS FOR MY WEDDING. ONE FOR THE CEREMONY AND ONE FOR THE RECEPTION. MAY I DO THIS?
Of course you may! This can be discussed during your consultation or your trial. Many brides are requesting a simpler, more natural look for the ceremony and a much more red carpet glamorous look for their reception.
Additional charges apply for second look, please inquire for rates.

DO YOU TRAVEL?
Yes, we offer a mobile service and travel to all locations local and international.
Calgary: no travel fees within Calgary. Travel fee's apply to surrounding areas.
Toronto: no travel fees within the GTA. Please inquire about your location.
Dubai: no travel fees.
